XboxXbox Series X|S · Theoretical scenario · unconfirmed

A little head start, perhaps?

One Xbox setting may let you use a New Zealand regional launch. Here is why it matters, followed by the steps.

Go to the steps

The idea: a potentially earlier start.

18 November 2026 · 12:00 Paris time

Midnight on 19 November in New Zealand is noon on 18 November in France. That would be 12 hours before a French midnight launch, only if the game unlocks by region. The official unlock time remains unconfirmed.

Your turn, step by step.

Make this change on your Xbox Series X|S. This website cannot enable it for you.

  1. Get your game ready

Check your digital licence and installation. Preloading alone does not grant early access.

  2. Open the Xbox guide

Press the Xbox controller button, then choose Profile & system.

  3. Find the region settings

Open Settings → System → Language & location.

  4. Choose New Zealand

Under Location, select New Zealand. Changing only the clock or time zone is not sufficient.

  5. Restart the console

Select Restart now. Keep your preferred language if the console allows it.

  6. Check whether the game unlocks

Try launching the game from your library at the indicated time. If it says you are too early, wait for official availability.

To return to France

Use the same menu, choose France (or your actual location), then Restart now.

Before changing your location

For Xbox Series X|S

This procedure does not work on an existing PS5 account: Sony does not allow its country to be changed after creation. Its effectiveness for GTA VI on Xbox is still unconfirmed.

What this page does

The site button opens this guide; it cannot change your console. This guide does not require a VPN, false billing information or a foreign purchase. Do not rebuy the game to test it.

Microsoft recommends region changes for a long-term move. Availability, subscriptions, billing and balances can depend on the country; account funds do not transfer between regions. Read its guidance before changing settings.
